  • Shorten long pauses in one go

The redesigned Repair tab finds every pause longer than you choose and shortens them all at once. You see how much time it saves before you apply.

  • RØDIE does more for you

Ask RØDIE to reduce breaths, set background noise or music levels, turn on APHEX Auto, or export just the words it finds. It keeps your chat when an edit creates a new version.

  • An audio view for every recording

Switch any recording between Transcript view and Audio view from the top bar, including recordings made on a single mic. Room reverb reduction now lives there, set track by track.

New

  • Volume on a transcript selection. Right-click selected words, choose Volume, then pick Speech, Noise or Music and drag the slider. Preview plays the selection with a little audio either side.
  • A Long pauses section in the Repair tab. Choose Pauses longer than, then Set length or Shorten by %, and see how many pauses match and how much time they save before you press Shorten pauses. One Undo puts them all back.
  • Select audio on the timeline waveform and cut it, including sounds the transcript has no words for. Press Delete to cut, or right-click for Play selection.
  • A level meter and a live loudness readout in LUFS in the editor's player. It measures the same way as export.
  • RØDIE can reduce breaths, set the noise for part of a recording, set music level, word levelling and auto-level, turn on APHEX Auto, and export a selection or the words it finds.
  • Every recording opens in Audio view as well as Transcript view, including recordings made on a single mic. Switch between them at the right of the top bar.
  • Room reverb reduction for each track in Audio view.
  • A topic rail beside the transcript. Hover it for an outline of every topic and click to jump there.
  • Correct, Adjust, Insert silence, Change speaker, Export selection and Reset have keyboard shortcuts. Open Help > Keyboard Shortcuts in the editor to see them all.
  • A Help menu in the editor with the User Guide, Keyboard Shortcuts, Guided Tour, What's New and Send Feedback.
  • What's new in each update appears the first time you open it.
  • Drag a track by its body to line it up, or nudge it with the − and + buttons.
  • Rename or delete a track from its menu in Audio view.
  • In Audio view, hold Option (Alt on Windows) and drag the volume line between two points to move a whole stretch.
  • Processing shows the time left on each step, and uploads show their size and speed.

Improved

  • The Repair tab is redesigned into grouped cards. Breath control and Word levelling each have a Basic and an Advanced setting.
  • The Mix tab in Audio view follows the same layout as Repair. Auto-mix settings sit on its card, and Apply runs it straight away.
  • The editor opens where you left each recording, including after a restart and when you switch versions.
  • Play after scrolling starts from the text in view. A Back to playhead button takes you back.
  • You can keep scrolling, playing and chatting with RØDIE while a correction waits for its audio.
  • RØDIE changes the right occurrence when you name one, such as "the second one", and removes only the filler words you ask for.
  • Scrollbars show only while you hover or scroll. The Audio view timeline scrolls when you drag the playhead to its edge.
  • A clearer Folders area when you have no folders. Drop a recording on it to create a folder.
  • Music detection is more accurate.
  • Each account on this computer keeps its own library. When you log out, choose Keep and Log Out to pick up where you left off, or Remove and Log Out if others use this computer.
  • Recordings no longer need Start Editing before you can edit them or use RØDIE.
  • "Podcasts" are now called "Recordings" throughout the app.
  • You can keep editing while View changes is on.
  • Zoom both timelines with Option, Alt, Cmd or Ctrl and the scroll wheel, or by pinching. A plain scroll wheel no longer zooms the editor timeline.
  • Zoom Audio view with the − and + buttons or the slider between them.
  • Correct no longer regenerates the audio unless you ask it to, and All shows how many times the word appears.
  • Auto-mix is explained in plain words, keeps the last person who spoke audible through pauses, and no longer needs an activity threshold.
  • Music is detected while a recording is still uploading, so it is ready sooner.
  • A recording you import no longer downloads its own audio again after uploading.
  • Cleaner voice separation.
  • Smoother tab switches, and consistent colours in the light theme.
  • A refreshed RØDIE unlock screen.

Fixed

  • Recordings that stayed on "Downloading audio" now show an error with Retry, and recover on their own once the file is available.
  • RØDIE keeps working after Update Recording, and the updated recording stays selected.
  • RØDIE keeps your conversation when an edit creates a new version of the recording.
  • RØDIE no longer refuses an export straight after turning on APHEX Auto.
  • Apply All and Discard All are back for RØDIE's edits, in a bar that floats over the transcript.
  • Play explains why nothing happens when no audio output is available, instead of failing.
  • Uploads recover from stalled transfers.
  • A failed voice replacement no longer blocks RØDIE's later edits.
  • A crash when repairing plosives on long recordings.
  • Breath cuts on stereo recordings.
  • The import progress bar shows finished steps as done.
  • Audio view is unavailable, with a reason, until a recording's tracks are on this computer.
  • Recently Deleted shows when something was deleted in your local time.
  • Deleting a composition says it won't go to Recently Deleted.
  • Choosing Move to... closes the right-click menu, so the folder list no longer covers it.
  • MP3 exports stay under the -1 dB true-peak limit, including at 128 kbps.
  • Transcript text exports keep each speaker's name after a recording's audio is updated.
  • Windows: Data & Storage counts each recording's full size on this computer.
  • Windows: Reveal in Explorer works when the export path contains a comma.
  • Windows: clearer installer text.
