Menus, Tips & Keyboard Shortcuts

Three things have no button on screen: transcript text size, Open Recent, and the way back to the guided tour. They live in the menus. Shortcuts here use the macOS symbols: ⌘ is Ctrl on Windows, ⇧ is Shift, ⌥ is Alt.
What lives in the menus
On Windows the menus answer to the Alt key, so Alt+F opens File, F11 goes full screen, and Quit and Check for Updates... live in File > Exit and Help.
The first item in File follows what is in front of you: Import Podcast... on the home screen, which starts a new podcast from a file (Import & Upload Recordings), or Import Audio... in the editor, which adds audio to the recording you have open. Open Recent lists the last five podcasts you opened in the editor. Clear Menu forgets the whole history, not just the five on show, and it does not come back.
Edit adds Insert Silence to the usual clipboard commands: half a second of pause after the last word of your selection, and that is the only length it inserts. Resize it by dragging its marker, covered in Correct Words & Adjust Pauses.
View is the only place to change how big the transcript reads: Make Text Bigger, Make Text Smaller and Reset Text Size step through four sizes. Help > Show Tour Again replays the guided tour, as does Show Tour on the editor's Help button.

⌘A then Backspace clears a recording, and ⌘Z puts it back. With nothing selected, Backspace on a word that starts a paragraph rejoins it to the paragraph above: the inverse of Enter.
Editor shortcuts stand down while a text field has focus. Esc closes the correction field, or click away.
Habits that save clicks
- Right-click for the toolbar. Dragging highlights words but opens nothing. Right-click the selection for Correct, Delete and the rest.
- Type straight over a selection. A letter, a number or a punctuation mark opens the correction field with that character in it.
- Unlock before you edit. Press Start Editing once per recording (Compositions & Versions).
- Jump with ⌘P. Search opens anywhere and covers titles, contacts, folders and what was actually said. Type at least three characters; shorter queries match titles only.
- Click, double-click, triple-click. One click moves the playhead, two select the word, three the paragraph.
